Maya Mikdashi
Maya Mikdashi is an Associate Professor at Rutgers University in the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She is an anthropologist of the state, of religion and secularism, of gender, and of the Middle East. Author of Sextarianism: Sovereignty, Secularism and the State in Lebanon (2022).
Maya was a Faculty Fellow and Director of Graduate Studies at the Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies from 2012-2014, where she was Michael's colleague, co-conspirator, intellectual interlocutor when he was director of the Center.
